However, the main drawcard is its capability of being an environmentally responsible machine. In fact, the alphabet, ‘G’ represents ‘green,’ thereby exhibiting the company’s initiative of designing an environment-friendly machine. These presses help in saving energy & resources, whilst reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds. The manufacturer has confirmed that each of the G series products strictly adhere to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) of the European Union. Here’s an overview of the G series of new & used Komori printing machines:

G26/29

This press is touted as the next-gen machine as it brings on board a variety of highly advanced systems & automations. It is capable of running at a maximum printing speed of 16,500 sph, whilst simultaneously offering short makereadies and decreased total lead time. Thanks to the one-touch operation, changeover of sheet thickness is easy and simple. Then, there is no need of adjusting the gripper pad, since the press does not make use of it, thereby resulting in considerably shorter changeover time.

G37

With a maximum printing speed of 15,000 sph, these presses facilitate short turnarounds. Further, they are fully equipped to cater to a maximum sheet size of 640 x 940 mm and sheet thickness of 0.04 to 0.6 mm, which implies that it can process short runs of a wide variety of products.

G40

Offering a maximum printing speed of 16,500 sheets per hour, this printing press comes outfitted with a variety of hi-tech features, including the fully automatic plate changer, flat plate clamp, KHS-AI system, PDC-SX Spectral Print Density Control-SX, and the PQA-S Print Quality Assessment system, which aid in enhancing efficiency whilst reducing makereadies.  It is also fully adept to process different sheet thicknesses, starting from ultra thin to thick sheets.

All There is to Know About Flying Paster & its Components

In the printing industry, a flying paster is responsible for ensuring continuous production on the web press. It basically works on the phenomenon of pasting an expiring roll into the next one so that the press can run continuously, without slowing down or taking a halt. The term ‘flying’ refers to its attribute of accelerating the roll to the same speed of the press, followed by the splicing task. In fact, it performs the same functions of a zero speed splicer. Large presses come equipped with either of the two. Flying pasters are generally found on the high speed presses. Listed below are the components that make up a flying paster:

1.  Roll Stand
The roll stand is responsible for mounting and holding the rolls in position. Ideally, a flying paster will be capable of holding two to three rolls, wherein one would be running on the press, and the other two would be ready for splicing.

2.  Dancer Roll

Also known as the floating roller, this part of the unit aids in pulling the paper from the roll and ensuring control on the brake holding the roll. Its primary purpose is to control the amount of paper being released from the roll and being fed to the press. Simultaneously, it also maintains the tension between itself and the roll.

3.  Metering Roller

The function of a metering roller is to make sure that the press receives tension consistently.

4.  Web Sensors

There are sensors located on each side of the web, which indicate the exact location of the roll. These sensors can be adjusted so as to enable the flying paster to move the roll accordingly.

5.  Splicer

The splicer is responsible for joining the moving roll to the new one with the help of a special piece of two-sided tape.  When the roll reaches the speed of the press, the splicer presses the expiring roll onto the tape, and then quickly cuts it through.
